Annual Saint Joseph's Hospital Golf Classic

The Annual Saint Joseph’s Hospital Golf Classic is known as the “Best One Day Charity Tournament in Atlanta.”  On Oct. 6, 2008 at The Golf Club of Georgia, more than 200 players will enjoy exceptional prizes, delicious food, celebrity guests and fabulous golf. 

The chairs of the 17th Annual Golf Classic are Dr. Matthews Gwynn and Meg Valz. All tournament participants have an opportunity to win a 2008 Lexus from Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta, as well as a chance to participate in the Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at the Pebble Beach Resort in California. This is a great opportunity to play an excellent course with colleagues and friends while we support the work of Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services.

• Format: Two (2) best net balls of the foursome. Each player will play his/her own ball throughout each hole and the best two net scores will be selected for the team. Additionally, two (2) best gross scores of the foursome will be recognized.

• Handicap: 90 percent of handicaps will be used for those players with established handicaps. 75 percent of handicap will be used for those players with non-established handicaps to be calculated by the Pro.

• Ties: All ties for prized will be decided by a scorecard playoff using a blind draw of holes selected from the golf course being played.

• Course Requirements:

  • All players must wear “soft spiked shoes”

  • All players & guests must wear collared shirts, no T-shirts or denim

  • Wireless Phones and Pagers MUST be set to vibrate

• 8-9:30 a.m., Registration: continental breakfast (8:00 am), Practice range/green open, mulligans/pars for sale

• 10 a.m., Shot Gun Start: (be in your cart at 9:45 a.m.)

  • 18 holes/on Lakeside or Creekside Courses

  • Box lunches, refreshments, and caddies are included (gratuity included in registration fee)

• 3:30-6 p.m., Awards Reception: Open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, prizes presented, live auction
