Hospital Appreciation Day

Cookies, Cakes and Candy… Oh My! Hospital Appreciation Day was held on February 11th 2008. On this day WINGS and TeenWINGS showed their appreciation to the staff of Saint Joseph’s Hospital for all their hard work. WINGS and TeenWINGS prepared over 200 goody bags full of sweets and healthy treats for the staff and served chocolate, vanilla, and carrot cake in the cafeteria.
Volunteers show up the night before the event to prepare the bags with gift tags and tissue paper and sort the snacks. On the morning of the event, the bags are filled with treats and rolled to departments all over the hospital until every shift of every department is reached.
“Dedication, talents and efforts of these highly-skilled and committed professionals touch
thousands of lives every year,” said Jeanne Stewart, former WINGS president. “We are pleased to recognize and honor their incredible work and show our gratitude for their selfless devotion to the health and well-being of the community 365 days a year.”
Hundreds of cookies, granola bars, fruits, chips and various other snacks are needed each year to fill the bags. It means a great deal to the hospital staff to receive these gifts of appreciation from the community.
