Saint Joseph’s outpatient rehabilitation programs

Saint Joseph’s outpatient rehabilitation offers outpatient physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) services. Highly-skilled licensed therapists provide quality, patient care to clients with various diagnoses. The therapy staff provides interventions for patients with orthopaedic, neurological, spine and post-surgery conditions. Treatment programs using rehabilitative exercises and various treatment techniques are based on findings of an evaluation.

The goals of physical or occupational therapy are to improve function and decrease symptoms such as pain, inflammation, weakness, or loss of motion. PT and OT may also recommend adaptive equipment to improve function.

Physical therapy
Saint Joseph's physical therapists evaluate and treat diagnoses resulting from injury, surgery or disease process at all joints. Balance program and aquatic therapy also are available.

Breast cancer program
Physical therapists specialize in:

  • Exercise consultation following breast cancer surgery, axillary or sentinel lymph node dissection, and reconstructive breast surgery.
  • During or after chemotherapy and or radiation.
  • For fatigue associated with chemotherapy and/or radiation.
  • To eliminate pain, decrease inflammation, restore mobility and strength of the arm, shoulder and chest wall.
  • Breast-cancer-related lymph edema education and treatment based on current evidence-based research.
  • General wellness program for women following breast cancer care not exercising regularly.

Occupational therapy
Saint Joseph's occupational therapists specialize in evaluation and treatment of diagnoses of wrist or hand and splint fabrication. Occupational therapy may also address any problems with activities of daily living (ADL) resulting from surgery, injury or disease process. ADLs may include dressing, feeding, grooming, bathing and toileting.

As a hospital-based outpatient facility, Saint Joseph’s outpatient rehab is exempt from the Medicare cap and accepts most insurance plans. Parking is subsidized (non-valet only) and covered parking is available.

To receive outpatient physical or occupational therapy, patients must have a prescription from their doctor. The office is open at the following times:
